MPP France Gélinas joins striking USW Local 6500 Members once again

Nickel Belt MPP France Gélinas, will join members of the United Steelworkers Union, Local 6500, once again on the picket lines in Sudbury.

Gélinas says today marks day ten of the strike.

Gélinas says she will be joined by Leo Gerard, retired International President of the United Steelworkers and Jamie West, the MPP for Sudbury at the Copper Cliff smelter today.

She says after over a year of COVID, there are a lot of families that are having a tough time, so she wants to talk to as many strikers as possible and let them know if they need help to call her.

The union, which represents Vale workers, says bargaining talks are continuing with the biggest issue being pensions for younger workers.
