Call for action on Calls for Action

Ontario Regional Chief RoseAnne Archibald is calling on the provincial and federal governments to take action.

Archibald says this is the 6th anniversary of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Release of the 94 Calls to Action. She says since the release in June 2015, only ten have been completed, 24 projects are underway, 38 have been proposed and 21 have yet to be addressed.

She is calling for renewed efforts and an immediate action plan from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, along with Premier Doug Ford to ensure that the 94 Calls to Action are fully implemented, adding it is through this work that people can begin to honour the 215 children found at the former Kamloops Indian Residential School and the many more who are buried in unmarked mass graves across Canada.
