Espanola council finalizing budget

Espanola council is expected to review the municipal budget one more time before passing it into law.
At the last special meeting of the budget, council looked at pulling money from reserves to bring the tax hike down to a tax levy increase of around 1.5 percent.
Staff was directed to finalize the numbers and the transfers from reserves with the final tabulations to be presented to council this evening.
If council has no concerns and/or amendments, the members give the budget final approval tonight.
