It’s good and bad news for Northern Ontario when it comes to provincial ridings. The good news is the province won’t follow the lead of the feds and reduce the number of ridings to 10 from 11. The bad news is the north’s influence at Queen’s Park will be further diminished. That’s because 15 news seats are being added to the Legislature following riding re-distribution and all those seats are in the south. Ridings in Ottawa, Toronto, Peel, York and Durham are all getting more seats.
