2021_05_04 Big Day For Pop Culture

It’s been a big couple of days for Disney+ and pop culture in general. Like them or not, Star Wars and Marvel are two of the biggest (and best) movie franchises around and they just announced some new content.

It’s May the Fourth, the unofficial Star Wars Day, and Disney+ just released a couple of TV shows. The Bad Batch is an animated Star Wars series that launched today. That’s not all; Star Wars released a crossover TV special with The Simpsons called “Maggie Simpson in The Force Awakens From Its Nap”.

Considering how hilariously awful the Star Wars Christmas special was (if you haven’t seen it, watch five seconds below… that’s all you’ll need), I can understand the hesitancy with this one. I haven’t seen it yet, but if you have, let me know what you think!

The other big announcement came from Marvel Studios. They released the titles for the next NINE movies in the franchise.

Wait a second before you say, “I don’t like superhero movie… they’re all the same!”

That may be true for some movies but there’s one you definitely should watch. The Eternals is a new movie with the biggest director the Marvel franchise has ever had. Chloe Zhao, fresh off her Best Director and Best Picture wins at the Oscars, is directing and from what Marvel said… this might be the best movie they’ve ever made. You can see a little snippet in the clip below.

There’s a bit of time for you to get excited. The Eternals comes out on November 5th.
