The Sables Spanish Rivers Fire Department was called out at 9:30 am Sunday morning to a fire at the residence on 255 Burns Crossover Road.
Public Information Officer Jilliana Goodchild says seven fire trucks from the department were engaged in the fire-fighting effort along with firefighters from all four halls in the township.
Goodchild says the fire was fought for most of the day with the site cleared by five pm.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
The Moose has learned that the resident is Greg Burns and a Go Fund Me is being set up to help him with his immediate needs.
