Elliot Lake city council is moving forward on not one, but two possible industrial parks within the municipality.
Manager of Economic Development Ashten Vlahovich informed the council that funding applications will be needed to move forward on an industrial park for the Fox Drive area.
She has recommended the city apply for Phase 1 funding from FEDNOR and the NOHFC at an estimated total project cost of $800,000.
She says if approved for the funding, the city can begin installing servicing and will be able to recoup the cost back when an anchor tenant is in place.
Vlahovich also asked that staff be directed to complete a request for proposals for consulting services for a site development plan for a future industrial park at the Elliot Lake Airport funded through the Investment Readiness project in the 2021 capital budget.
Council unanimously endorsed the motion.
