Who is currently eligible to receive vaccines in Algoma?
Additional priority-based populations will be added as more vaccine supply becomes available to the community
- Adults 60+ and older
- NEW! High-risk congregate settings (such as shelters, community living) (complete list)
- NEW! Individuals with highest risk chronic conditions and their caregivers (complete list)
- Education workers who provide direct daily support to students with special education needs.
You must meet one or more of the following criteria:
- who require support with activities of daily living, including health and safety measures
- are unable to wear masks for medical reasons
- have complex medical needs
- cannot be accommodated through remote learning
- Indigenous adults (18+ and household members)Â Â (First Nations, Metis, Inuit)
- Staff and essential caregivers in long-term care, retirement homes and other congregate care settings for seniors (e.g. assisted living)
- Healthcare workers as identified in the Ministry of Health’s Guidance on Health Care Worker Prioritization
- Highest Priority (complete list)
- Very High Priority (complete list)

- Moderate Priority (complete list)
- Faith leaders who provide:
- End of life care
- Care of the deceased, funerals, bathing, or other ceremony with direct contact with deceased persons
- Home visits to unwell persons
- Pastoral care in hospitals/long-term care homes/retirement homes or other vulnerable settings.
- Adult recipients of chronic home care
NOTE: If you are eligible for COVID-19 immunization, and have one of the conditions below, please speak with your treating health care provider BEFORE attending your immunization appointment.

*If you see a Rheumatologist, in order to make sure the COVID-19 vaccines offer as much protection from the COVID-19 virus as possible, the following is recommended from the Rheumatology Department of the Algoma District Medical Group:
1) If you have vasculitis (giant cell arteritis/ANCA vasculitis/Wegener’s/Takayasu) or severe lupus (with vasculitis/heart/lung problems associated with lupus), please contact your Rheumatologist for recommendations before getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
2) If you are on a Rituximab (or Ruxience), Cyclophosphamide, Abatacept (Orencia),or a Jak inhibitor (Rinvoq, Xeljanz), please contact your Rheumatologist for recommendations before getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
3) If you are on Methotrexate for your arthritis, you may contact your primary care provider (doctor, nurse practitioner) for recommendations before getting the COVID-19 vaccine

Vaccinations are being administered across Algoma, book your appointment at any available clinic or find a clinic near you.
Walk-ins appointments are not available.
Do not go directly to a vaccination clinic without a confirmed appointment. You will not receive a vaccination without an appointment. We do not accept in-person appointment bookings at APH offices.Â
At this time, these clinics are not providing appointments for 2nd doses.

The following people are eligible to receive the first dose of the vaccine. Once you become eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination, you will remain eligible until all vaccinations are administered across Algoma.
