Sawmill dispute

The forestry critic of the NDP says the Liberals are allowing wood cut in Ontario to be processed in Quebec mills.  And Timmins – James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson says there’s no reason for this.  Bisson says a saw-mill in Timmins had its request for accessing more poplar denied because all the wood has been allocated.  But Bisson doesn’t buy this.  He says the Timmins mill requested an eight thousand cubic metre wood allocation but was refused. Bisson says if the denial was based on all the wood being allocated, he wants to know why 71,000 cubic metres of poplar is being sent to Quebec each year.  The minister of natural resources says his people have been working with the company in question to resolve this issue.
