New student trustee elected to the CSC Nouvelon board

The Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon says a new student trustee will begin her two-year term as a member of the board in August.

Board president Andre Bidal says Mia Toner, a grade 10 student at École secondaire du Sacré-Coeur in Sudbury, will succeed Mathieu Simon as student trustee for the Sudbury District

He says Toner has shown strong commitment through her involvement in student radio, the well-being committee, the student parliament as well as through her participation in athletics.

She will in fact represent Ontario at the upcoming Canadian Francophone Games in 2022.

Toner will be joined on the board by Benjamin Dennie, a grade 11 student at Jeunesse Nord in Blind River who is starting the second year of his term as student trustee for the Districts of Algoma and Manitoulin.
