Pan A-M Torch now a memory for the area

Many Espanola residents will have fond memories of the Pan-AM Torch passing through town on Tuesday.   The big celebration took place at the Recreation Complex.  At the complex, main torch carrier David Gallant, a teacher and coach handed over the torch to the younger generation.  In this case that was A. B Ellis Grade 8 student Monikka McGreggor.  The torch relay was kicked off by Kim Gardner.  The celebration saw several speeches including fellow teacher Tony Yachuk talking about Gallant’s teaching and coaching career.
