High school students with Franco West in Espanola are celebrating their Francophone heritage this week. The celebration coincides with the 400th anniversary of Samuel de Champlain’s arrival in Canada in 1615 and the role he played in Ontario. Students marked began celebrations on Tuesday with a march to the downtown which included raising a huge Francophone flag. The event was also highlighted with French songs.
