An officer who is now employed with the Espanola OPP faces sexual assault charges. The charges stem from an investigation by the Special Investigations Unit when the officer was with the Sault Ste. Marie city police. It’s alleged four males were sexually assaulted during the 1980’s in the Sault. The constable faces four counts of gross indecency, three counts of sexual assault and two counts of indecent assault. The officer makes a July 6th court appearance.  The SIU investigates when police are part of a serious injury, death or sexual assault that involves civilians.  The cop was with the Sault police from 1986 to 2003.
