Sudbury Catholic board accepting Japanese international students

Even though there is a worldwide pandemic, the Sudbury Catholic board will be welcoming Japanese international students soon.

MLI Homestay International stated in a press release, that Sudbury families are needed to billet the international students who will be studying at Sudbury Catholic District School Board high schools for the next school year.

Cheryl Lee with MLI International said 15 Japanese students will arrive on April 19th and attend Marymount Academy, St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School and St. Charles College.

She says students will only arrive in Sudbury after the required 14-day quarantine, and after receiving three negative COVID test results.

Lee adds the students are aware of the pandemic, have already lived through a year of COVID-19 in their own country and are very much looking forward to the uniquely Canadian experience.

Billets are paid an honorarium of $675 per month to take care of the students’ basic needs.

If you’d like to open your home to one of the Japanese students who will be arriving next month, call Cheryl Lee at 778-899-9667, via email at [email protected] or go online to apply at www.mlihomestay.com.
