Summer fun in Elliot Lake

The City of Elliot Lake is throwing a big party all summer long. The community which literally arose from the wilderness to become a thriving Community of 25,000 in the 1950’s is celebrating it’s 60 Anniversary this year.Some of the fun events include the 60th Anniversary Street Dance, featuring bands The Sheep Dogs, The Road Hammers and disco funk band Boogie Wonder Band.

Another fun event is the 60th anniversary Uranium Heritage Bed Race Challenge scheduled for Saturday June 27th. The Bed Race starts from the corner of Central Avenue and Maple Rd. This is a timed race and each team entered is guaranteed to race  at least 2 times during the competition before the single elimination round.
