Espanola council will meet today to appoint a temporary acting clerk/CAO/treasurer so the administration of the municipality can continue.
Mayor Jill Beer says they had to cancel their regular meeting this week because they did not have a clerk, which is required under the Municipal Act.
Espanola is without a clerk and a CAO-treasurer and the hiring committee set up earlier this month is reviewing applications for the three positions and/or combined positions.
Beer says the temporary appointment will be made today to ensure the municipality can continue functioning on a day-to-day basis.
