A boil-water advisory is being issued for homes, businesses, and two schools in Elliot Lake.
Elliot Lake Public Works says residents and businesses at 112 – 118 and 120 Hutchison Avenue, as well as Fatima and George Vanier Schools, are now under a boil-water advisory.
Whenever any kind of repair or construction is done on the water supply system, either planned or an emergency, there is a risk of soil or other contaminants entering the water supply.
Algoma Public Health says although the risk is low, no one should ingest the water until the advisory is lifted.
