One confirmed case of COVID-19 at Espanola High

Public Health Sudbury & Districts has advised Rainbow District School Board that one confirmed case of COVID-19 has an impact on one class at three Rainbow Schools – Espanola High School, Jean Hanson Public School and Lockerby Composite School.

The individual who tested positive, a staff member,  is currently self-isolating and being monitored by Public Health Sudbury & Districts.

There is no evidence of transmission of COVID-19 at any of these schools at this time.

All schools remain open for in-person learners.

They implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfecting before school resumed.

One Intensive Support Program Class at Espanola High School has been asked to self-isolate to and including March 2, 2021.

The Room 12 Class at Jean Hanson Public School has been asked to self-isolate to and including March 3, 2021.

One Intensive Support Program Class at Lockerby Composite School has been asked to self-isolate to and including March 3, 2021.

The affected students, their parents/guardians and relevant staff have been notified and have received a letter from Public Health with specific guidance.

Public Health will directly contact all parents/guardians of students and all school personnel who have been identified as close contacts.

There is no impact on transportation.
