The Special Investigations Unit is trying to determine if police in Timmins played a role in the death of man involved in a collision. The man was driving a car Monday night when it collided with a pick-up truck injuring him and his female passenger. Police first took the man into custody and then both the man and woman were sent to hospital. It was in the hospital that the man was pronounced dead. The SIU gets involved when a person dies or is seriously injured after coming into contact with police.
