In a drive to encourage better food labeling, Blind River residents are joining thousands of people around the world this Saturday in a march. The march is to get agricultural giant Monsanto to label what foods contain genetically modified organisms and have been treated with pesticides. Recently the World Health Organization identified Monsanto’s herbicide, Roundup as a probable carcinogen. Participants in the Blind River demonstration will meet Saturday at 10:45 a.m. behind the Royal Bank parking lot. Organizers want participants to keep in mind this is peaceful march.
