It could be a sign of what Elliot Lake and Blind River could expect over the proposal to bury nuclear waste deep underground. The Saugeen Ojibway Nation opposes a proposal by Ontario Power Generation to bury low and mid-level nuclear waste in Bruce County. The First Nation has the backing of the Anishinabek Nation. Madahbee says the Anishinabek Nation opposes any proposal to bury nuclear waste within First Nation territory.
