First COVID-19 death in Algoma District
Algoma Public Health is reporting the region’s first COVID-19 related death.
Dr. Jennifer Loo, the Medical Officer of Health for Algoma Public Health says It is with great sadness that today the agency is reporting the region’s first death related to COVID-19.
She says as a supportive and compassionate community, condolences are extended to this person’s loved ones.
Dr. Loo adds out of respect for the family, no further information is being shared.
Public Health Sudbury is reporting five new cases of COVID-19, all in the Greater Sudbury area.
All are in self-isolation.
