The former commissioner of the NOJHL, Joe Drago, has been honoured by his former alma mater. Drago received an honourary science degree from Clarkson University, in Potsdam, New York. Drago received the honour over the weekend while addressing graduate students. The school rewarded the Sudbury native for his years of dedication to academics, student achievement and sports. Drago attended Clarkson on an NCAA hockey scholarship and in 1962 helped his Golden Knights team-mates to a runner up finish in the national championship.
