Some grinches in the North Shore

East Algoma OPP is investigating the theft of a donation jar from an Elliot Lake business and have also laid charges in the theft of Christmas ornaments

OPP Constable Phil Young says on November 21st, a complainant notified OPP that several Christmas ornaments had been stolen from their yard on Taylor Boulevard in Elliot Lake.

Young says on the 26th, police executed a search warrant at a residence on Capillo Road, recovered the items and laid charges.

He says a 41-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman have both been charged with possession of stolen goods and several breaches.

Young says police is asking for assistance in connection to a donation jar filled with cash, which was stolen last Wednesday from a gas station on Highway 108 in Elliot Lake.

He says the person is described as looking like a male, approximately 5’8″ tall, medium build, wearing a camo FXR jacket, blue bicycle helmet and was operating a red/maroon E-bike.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
