Hughes calls for more support for First Nations

Carol Hughes of Algoma Manitoulin Kapuskasing says the federal government isn’t doing enough to support remote First Nations.  And she cites as an example the Shoal Lake First Nation.  Hughes says the Shoal Lake Reserve now faces a state of emergency as a 17-year boil water advisory continues.  Hughes says only long term solutions will help remote First Nations but their pleas for help keep falling on deaf ears.  Hughes says it’s time the feds improve infrastructure for Aboriginal communities like Shoal Lake.
