The Sudbury courthouse will hold a trial looking into the theft of thousands of dollars from a local service club.
The now-defunct Espanola Police Service originally laid the charges of theft of more than $30,000 from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #39 in August 2017 against a former local woman following a nine-month investigation.
Police began that investigation in October 2016 obtaining a warrant for bank records.
They say $30,000 had not been deposited into two Legion bank accounts, which were used for local charitable causes.
Fifty-four-year-old Anita Everett-Hunt of Elliot Lake was charged with one count each of theft over $5,000 and theft under $5,000 in August 2017.
A preliminary hearing held in September of last year found there was enough evidence to go to trial.
Everett-Hunt has chosen to go to trial by judge alone.
There have been several delays due to her changing lawyers.
She failed to make an appearance this Tuesday and has been ordered to appear in court on December 15th.
