Positive survey for Mississagi Provincial Park

money spent in the region.

Management of the park is led by the City of Elliot Lake partnered with the Province of Ontario.

Public Works Director Daryl Halloch will present a report to the council tonight reviewing the numbers from this year’s season.

He says the city has operated the park for the last seven years and this year has proved to be an economic boost with just over 17,300 visitors, 72% of them from out of town.

And, adding to that, he estimates around 66% of campers stopped in the city and spent some $300,000 within Elliot Lake.

Halloch is pleased with the turnout adding the survey proves not only is the park an integral part of regional history and outdoor activity, but it also provides an economic boost to the City of Elliot Lake.”
