Local communities’ benefit from provincial fund

The Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund is providing municipalities with around $500 million in funding supports.

Minister of Finance Rod Phillips says the province made a commitment at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario annual conference this past August to maintain the fund.

He says municipalities are being informed this week of how much funding they will receive, averaging around $800 per household.

She says the fund is recognized as the key main general assistance grant helping meets specific needs for 389 municipalities in Ontario.
