OPP investigating a stabbing

East Algoma OPP is investigating the stabbing of a teen in Blind River.

OPP Constable Bev Gauthier says shortly after noon last Friday, police were called in about a stabbing which had occurred the night before on Chiblow Street in Blind River.

She says officers determined a 14-year-old had been stabbed and transported to Sudbury hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Gauthier says later that afternoon police arrested a Blind River 15-year-old on a charge of aggravated assault.

She adds the youth is to appear in Blind River Court on December 10th.

She says the investigation is continuing and anyone with any information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
