A single vehicle collision with a tree has resulted in the death of a southern Ontario man.
Manitoulin OPP Constable Wendy Forcier says on Saturday morning, police and other services including the Tekhummah Fire Department on Manitoulin Island responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Government Road near 15th Concession Road in Tekhummah Township.
She says the investigation revealed the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Forcier says the driver of the vehicle and lone occupant, 41-year-old Jeffery McKay from Cambridge, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
She adds the investigation is continuing with the assistance of an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and an OPP Technical Collision Investigator in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
