OPP advises the public of hazard caused by youths lying on highway

The Manitoulin OPP is looking into an incident of several youths lying on Highway 17.

OPP Constable Wendy Forcier says around 8:00 pm last Sunday, police received calls about a group of teenagers laying or sitting down on the centerline of Highway 17 in Baldwin township.

She says the only description was that they had blankets with them.

Forcier says by the time police arrived, the youths were gone.

She says due to the risky behaviour of the teens, police believe it is necessary to release an advisory for the safety of the public.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call OPP or Crime Stoppers.
