The Local Health integration Network has done something a little different with its Healthy Change Champion promotion this month. Normally the LHIN names an individual as a recipient. But this time it’s recognizing about 100 Parry Sound area people as Healthy Change Champions. These volunteers help hundreds of Parry Sound area residents through various programs by doing things like shopping for groceries or taking someone to a doctor’s appointment. The men and women volunteer about 10,000 hours of their time annually and they range in age from 65 to 75 and one person is 80!
