Another case of COVID-19 in Sudbury

There has been another case of COVID-19 in Greater Sudbury.

According to Public Health Sudbury & Districts, Case #105 involves travel with the individual in self-isolation.

Premier Doug Ford says we’re into the second wave of COVID-19, and it’ll be tougher, and more complicated, to control that the first wave last spring.

Provincial health officials reported a record 700 diagnoses yesterday, with more than half in Toronto alone.

The province’s chief medical officer of health, Doctor David Williams, says we’ll have to wait to see if this will be a small second wave or, in his words, a “tsunami.”

The number of people being treated in hospital has risen to 128, although 40 hospitals didn’t report their numbers yesterday.

Officials say 29 of them are in intensive care.

So far, no new restrictions have been announced, and Health Minister Christine Elliott says regions of the province will only be rolled back if absolutely necessary.
