Teen charged in ELSS cyber threat

East Algoma OPP have made an arrest following last week’s cyber-bullying threats at ELSS.  Police have charged a 16-year-old girl with uttering threats, criminal harassment and public mischief.  The teen was held behind bars over the weekend in Sault Ste. Marie and has a bail court hearing today.  Because she’s charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the Act prohibits naming the accused.  Online threats resulted in the OPP overseeing security at the school from last Wednesday to Friday.  At one point the front doors were locked from start to finish and anyone leaving or going into the school had to go through the OPP.
