A Grade 11 student hailing from Sudbury has won a prestigious honour to have her writing featured in a magazine.
Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon communication director Paul de la Riva says Darquise Frappier, an École secondaire du Sacré-Coeur student, has had her writing recognized as part of the University of Sudbury’s “Voices of Indigenous Youth: Indigenous Me” youth writing contest.
He says First Nation, Métis or Inuit students from Grade 7-12 were invited to take part in celebrating Indigenous cultural pride.
De la Riva says Frappier’s article will be published this fall.
