Final day to vote in Township of North Shore election

This is the final day for ratepayers in the Township of the North Shore to go to the polls to fill two vacancies.

Township returning officer, Barbara Major says the polls close tonight at 8:00 pm for ratepayers on the voting list to vote online or by phone.

Former Mayor Randi Condie and Deputy Mayor Barb Barton resigned earlier this year, both

for personal reasons.

There are two candidates are running for mayor, Tony Moor and Joyce Robitaille and two for a vacant council position: Len Menard and Glen Shelley following resignations earlier this year.

With the resignations, Melody Rose was appointed as acting mayor.

At this time, council includes Rose from Serpent River, Brenda Green from Spragge and Gary Gamble

from Algoma Mills.
