Espanola municipal services returning to new normal

The Town of Espanola is returning to a new normal following the Provincial Emergency Order being lifted.

Espanola Mayor Jill Beer says residents are now able to access the Public Works Department during regular office.

She adds the Provincial Offences Office has also resumed regular hours and staff will be onsite to help with an inquiries or ticket payments.

However, Beer adds, the town office remains closed.

She says a secure drop box is available in the foyer for all payments and applications.

For any other inquiries, she says people will have to call in and follow the phone prompts for the person or department they are looking for.

Beers adds the library and recreation centre is also open, but by appointment only.

COVID-19 protocols must also be followed says Beer including wearing a mask and physical distancing.

Residents are now able to access the Public Works Department during regular office hours of Mon – Fri 8:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. The POA office has resumed regular hours of operation Mon – Fri 8:30 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 4:30 pm. Online and phone in payments are also accepted at www.paytickets.ca / 705.862.7875.

The Municipal Office remains closed. A secure drop box is available in the foyer of the building for all payments and applications. When making a payment please ensure to indicate on your envelope where the payment is to be applied. Residents are reminded that online payments and preauthorized payment options are available for property taxes and utilities.

The Espanola Public Library will continue to offer curb-side pick-up, by appointment only. For more information on library hours visit the website page at espanola.ca/library or call 705.869.2940.
The pool & fitness areas are open by appointment only at the Espanola Regional Recreation Complex. Check espanola.ca or call 705.869.1961 for modified hours of operation.

“We are relieved to be moving into Stage 3 of reopening and will ensure our facilities are operating in the safest manner possible” stated Beer. “Each municipal facility follows the recommended guidelines from Public Health Sudbury & Districts. Visitors are required to physically distance themselves from others, wear a mask, and use the hand sanitizing stations available at each location. Please continue to be patient and kind to each other during these challenging times.”
