Township of Baldwin moves forward on beautification projects

Baldwin Township council is focusing on beautification projects as part of its 2020 municipal strategy.

Township CAO Karin Bates says the council is hoping residents will do their part in taking pride in their homes and community as a whole.

She adds, as part of the initiative, the McKerrow Hotel as well as an older home, which had been donated to the township, were torn down.

Bates says the site of the former home is now a parking lot for access to the newly improved Community Peace Garden.

She adds five brackets and veterans banners similar to those erected by the Espanola Legion have also been purchased to beautify the Highway 17 corridor.

And Bates says pet owners will also be able to enjoy the new dog park, which has been opened at Snoopy’s Landing, residents and travellers alike.
