The MPP from Nickel Belt is hoping an open letter to Premier Doug Ford can lead to some financial assistance for Royal Canadian Legions.
Nickel Belt MPP France Gelinas says some legions are in dire straits when it comes to paying day-to-day costs such as hydro and insurance bills due to the loss of revenue and the pandemic.
Gelinas says she is asking Premier Ford to include utility and insurance bills in the fund, more so since the winter season is just around the corner.
She says the funding could be included in the new Resilient Communities Fund with the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
