Murder victim identified – investigation continues

The Manitoulin OPP has identified the victim of a murder, which took place earlier this month in Sable-Spanish Rivers Township.
Manitoulin OPP Constable Renee Lalonde says on August 4th, shortly after 8:30 pm, police responded to a 911 call about an unwanted person related to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the township.
She says police found a victim who was transported to the hospital where they were pronounced deceased.
Lalonde says the victim has been identified as 46-year-old Vincent Gagne of the township.
Lalonde adds, 45-year-old Melissa Eden, who also resides in Sable-Spanish Rivers, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.
She says Eden was remanded into custody to await an appearance in Sudbury court.
Lalonde adds the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call Manitoulin OPP.
