Well known Espanola High School teacher named Pan-Am- torch carrier

A teacher at Espanola High School has been chosen to be the community’s torch carrier for the upcoming Pan-Am Games.  Dave Gallant, who also coaches at the school, will carry the torch through town on June 2nd.  Mayor Ron Piche says Gallant’s commitment to youth and team sports has touched many lives in Espanola.  Gallant was nominated by the community for his years of dedication especially with track and field.  A coaching highlight has been serving as mentor to former EHS student Caroline Ehrhardt who became the Canadian triple jump champion.  Gallant will be front and centre June 2nd at the Recreation Complex.
