Rainbow Strategic Plan – reopening school is a fine balance

Last night, nearly 1,000 parents, staff and students took in the live YouTube video meeting hosted by the Rainbow District School Board where Education Director, Norm Blaseg, outlined the step-by-step process for reopening schools.
He emphasizes students will be in cohorts, or groups, which will not change, meaning students will learn, play, eat and maintain COVOD-19 protocols together.
There are only two options for students adds Blaseg, either attend school or a full day on line.
He stresses attendance is mandatory for both and parents must inform the board of their choice by August 21st.
For the complete report, go to the board’s website.
The complete report is available at rainbowschools.ca. Forms for accessing transition programs for Special Needs Students and/or registering students for school are also available on the site. Parents will have until mid-November if they decide to integrate their children into the in-school environment. Busing has also been coordinated with the Sudbury Student Services Consortium. Parents must also contact the consortium to register their child for bus access. The consortium can be reached at 705-521-1234.
