When six Toronto 2020 high school grads realized their plans to return to camp as counsellors this summer were cancelled due to COVID, they decided it was time to give back to the community.
On Friday, June 26, they embarked on an epic 60-day canoe trip across Ontario to raise $60,000 for Food Banks Canada with 50 % of funds raised going to indigenous food programs.
The six are in Espanola today and the public is invited to a civic reception at 4:00 at the Red McCarthy Memorial Ball Fields Pavilion this afternoon.
COVID-19 protocols will be in place including physical distancing and wearing masks.
