Funding for students across the North

The federal government is providing more than $3.9-million through FedNor in a move aimed at
supporting youth initiatives and young entrepreneurs in Northern Ontario.
Federal Economic Development and Official Languages Minister Mélanie Joly announced the funding
Wednesday as part of World Youth Skills Day.
The non-repayable contributions of over $600,000 will be delivered by FedNor, and go towards 28 initiatives.
Nord-Aski Regional Economic Development Corporation will receive slightly more than $2 million.
FedNor said the money will enable Nord-Aski, in partnership with 14 Community Futures Development
corporations in the region, to provide youth internships in key sectors of the economy including the
digital economy, innovation and trade.
