Espanola council prepares re-opening of recreation centre

Espanola council has agreed to fill some vacancies to prepare for the re-opening of the Espanola
Regional Recreation Complex.
At Tuesday night’s meeting, council gave its approval for the re-opening of the complex on August 4th.
Council also passed two motions approving the replacement of a full-time facility assistant who resigned
in April and the hiring of a full-time lifeguard.
Manager Joel Yusko told council testing for pool conditions will begin right away to ensure it meets
stipulations set out by the Ministry of Health as well as the installation of equipment, such as
sanitization stations to meet COVID-19 protocols.
Yusko adds the number of people using the gym and pool will be strictly regulated.
The staff is to report back to work on July 20th.
