Shorter hunting season on the way

The hunting season for moose calves is being shortened this year in Northern Ontario.  In addition, the Ministry of Natural Resources is reducing moose hunting tags by 15 percent across the province.  The MNR says the changes are in response to a declining moose population.  Next year the northern moose hunt will be delayed by one week and again that’s to help sustain and increase the population.  The changes are the first of several the MNR has planned to reverse a drop in the moose population.
