Black Lives Matter rallies in Sudbury and Little Current were well attended last Friday.
Well over 500 people took in the rally in Sudbury and another 100 or so in Little Current.
France Gelinas, the MPP for Sudbury, says she took part in the rally and march in Sudbury’s downtown.
She says speakers shared their gut-wrenching stories of racism in Sudbury which covered every aspect of the community from education, to health, policing and more.
She hopes their stories have convinced people that systemic racism exists adding everyone should be
ready to do better.
The BLM rallies and marches were held to support the movement in advocating for not only Black
people, but also for Indigenous and other People of Colour.
