FedNor is providing the Lacloche-Manitoulin Business Assistance Corporation with emergency funding through the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund Program.
Mike Addison the general manager of LAMBAC says there is a very high demand for assistance due to COVID-19 impacts, but businesses wanting access to the emergency fund have to prove they were unable to access existing relief measures.
Businesses have to show they have tried to access other sources including banks and/or other federal programs, or if they need a top-up over what they have already received.
He stresses the funding is limited and is encouraging businesses to apply for what they need, and not the maximum.
Addison adds a business will also have to provide proof it was viable as of March 1, of this year to qualify for the funding.
The corporation services businesses along the North Shore corridor and in the Manitoulin District.
