Popular tourist sport partially re-opening

A Manitoulin Island council realizes the financial impact COVID-19 has had on local businesses, so a popular tourist spot has been partially re-opened.

Portions of Bridal Veil Falls and the Kagawong River trails are partially re-opened, but with strict COVID-19 protocols in place according to the instructions of Billings Township council.

Council is allowing the viewing platform of the falls to be opened, but the public will not be allowed to go down the stairs to the falls themselves.

The trails along the Kagawong River have also been re-opened allowing access out to the Old Mill Road and the museum, although the Old Mill Museum will not open until Canada Day.

The township has prepared COVID-19 signage that they expect residents and tourists alike to follow such as no more than ten people grouping in an area at one time, physical distancing and hand sanitizing, as well as masks.
