The melting snow means discarded needles could make another appearance. Algoma Public Health is warning residents about this practice and not to pick up the needles without protection. The needles could be infectious as the result of blood diseases and you risk hurting yourself if you pick one up. If you find a discarded needle and want to get rid of it, wear gloves when picking it up, put it in a hard container and drop it off at a drug store.
